Layout of a container

As a general rule, shipping containers do not need planning permission if they are being used as is.

However if you are changing the use of a shipping container it is important that you make the required checks with your local planning office as there may be things you need to consider such as:

  • Residential Area

  • Near Road/Junction

  • Greenbelt Land

  • Conditions on area

  • Foundations/Ground work

  • Utilities

And finally...

Don't forget building regulationS

It is important to ensure your project conforms to Building Regulations and the appropriate approval has been gained as in worst cases prosecution can follow from offending work that has been carried out.
